What can be done about the abandon houses and unkept yards in Plumas Lake?

If you drive around Plumas Lake you will see your fair share of abandon houses that were claimed during the housing crisis. As citizens, in an effort to keep our property values up and encourage more families to settle here I ask, what can we do to help improve the image of our community?

Are there enough of us out there who would be willing to contribute our time and energy to revitalize a forgotten lawn or dying tree? I for one would like to see a Plumas Lake Pride initiative come forth, a group of volunteers who dedicate some time and effort to help improve the image of our community.

Count me in! I, too, am a "victim" of the housing crunch in that I lost my job in the home building industry due to this crisis. But with the help of a friend & the grace of God, I found another one in about 6 weeks. If you drive through Mapleton, another Plumas Lake community, you'll see it's much worse than here. Almost like a ghost town! I'd hate to see our area get that way, so I will help anyone, anytime to keep our community thriving.

I will find time to help out in any way I can. I push a mean lawn mower and can handle a weed wacker pretty good too. I have my own tools and a pick-up truck and I actually like mowing and wacking weeds.

I am willing to do whatever I can to help improve the look of our community. Is it true that OPUD cited someone for watering a lawn of an abandon home next to theirs claiming it is the bank responsibility to upkeep the house?

It is the Banks responsibility... thus falling on the listing agent. I would call the listing agent and ask if it is possible to get the sprinklers turned on to keep it green. Sometimes that is possible.
Another solution.... you can refer all your friends and family to me to sell up all those vacant homes and get new neighbors. Teehee..

If a house is near you that looks like this.. take 5mins of your time and call them and ask that something be done with the yard. The counties should be responsible. YES- A gentleman in Cobblestone was cited for trying to keep the yards looking nice.. My issue with this is- WHAT IS THE HARM? IT'S MY MONEY, MY WATER BILL I AM USING!!! Sometimes assinine beauraucrats(I know I spelled that wrong) get in the way... Just do it in the dark ~hahaha~

Kevin... you go ahead and send buyers my way...I treat my referring friends well. It is illegal to pay a non Realtor a referral fee...
