Beautification Upkeep

Has anyone noticed the difference in the landscaping upkeep along RiverOaks and how it differs from "property to property"? I live in Cobblestone yet feel my "area" of the Blvd is the worse looking!!! I've heard that Cobblestone pays the most in taxes for such upkeep, yet where are the blooming flowers and weed control? Is it just me or?

Don't even get me started on the street lights. OPUD needs to step up. Is it just OPUD or is there a Public Works Dept, too? How about the weeds or the "desperately" needs a mow at the big park on River Oaks...

The market is changing.. we want to show PL is not another Elk Grove..or Lincoln...

Who knows about this stuff? Any suggestions?

I am not sure about who does the landscape maintenance. As for the street lights, I don't believe it is OPUD, but rather public works. What is your issue with street lights? Maintenance of the parks is an OPUD responsibility and if you don't think the park is being taken care of, give them a call.

This needs to be a community effort. I am on the board and director for LEAP FOR LEARNING, which is an organization that offers resources and activities for children and their families. I am responsible for building community networks and have been in contact with OPUD. The best thing to do is get the support of others in the neighborhood and send an email to Director Hollis or Director Patty. They oversee the Parks and Rec Committee. You can get the email addresses off of the OPUD website. Also, take a look at the revised agenda as there is already discussion on the status of parks in the works. We can also get a group together and attend a board meeting. Feel free to call me with more info or if you would like to join forces.
